National Elementary Honor Society

The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) at Rio Colorado Elementary School is a student-led organization that recognizes students who demonstrate academic achievement, positive character, leadership, and a commitment to serving others. Our NEHS members are 5th and 6th grade students who strive to be role models and exemplify the values of our school community.

The NEHS is dedicated to making a positive difference at our school and throughout our community. Members meet regularly to brainstorm ideas, plan service projects, and work together to put those ideas into action. Through service and leadership opportunities, students learn the importance of responsibility, teamwork, kindness, and giving back to others.

Throughout the school year, NEHS members participate in activities such as food drives, service opportunities with the local senior center, and school-wide community service projects. Our goal is to create meaningful experiences that allow students to help others while developing the leadership skills they will carry with them beyond elementary school.
