This year, we are thrilled to continue with rich standard based instruction that is aimed at promoting innovation, critical thinking, and a love for learning. Our teachers have been working diligently to create engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning styles and strengths of our students.
 
Communication is key to a successful partnership between the school and parents. It is truly an honor to recognize Rio Colorado Elementary School as one of IXL Learning’s High Achieving Schools.
Rio Colorado may be a small school, but the impact happening within these walls is anything but small. The accomplishments of this campus are a direct reflection of the dedication, leadership, and commitment of Principal Bethany Loucks, the leadership team, an incredible staff, and most importantly, the phenomenal students who continue to strive for excellence.
 
Rio Colorado has earned an A rating for two consecutive years, has been recognized as the highest-rated school in the Gadsden Elementary School District, and has climbed from ninth to fifth among schools in Yuma County. Those accomplishments don’t happen by accident they happen because a school community believes in its students and works together to help them succeed.
 
And we are especially proud to recognize the campus’s commitment to IXL. Mrs. Barraza was honored as an IXL Elite 100 teacher, recognizing her innovation, creativity, and dedication to using IXL to support student achievement.
Today, we celebrate not just the accomplishments, but the people behind them the leaders who set the vision, the teachers who make learning come alive, and the students who continue to show us what is possible.
