On Tuesday, December 16th, at Middle School Gym, we had our PTO Meeting Musical/Musical Program, we had over 190 parents in attendance, and the most special part of our PTO was the wonderful Christmas Program in which all student levels participated. K-6th grades each sang a song .
We recognized our students with the Accelerated Reader and the November and December Students of the Month Certificates. We raffled 30 back packs and 6 bike helmets donated for this event.
We had our first PTO meeting for this 2009 on Tuesday, January 20th, attending more than 70 parents. Ms. Kikey Prieto, Community Outreach Worker presented Health programs to help persons who are not insured get medical healthcare and services.
Accelerated Reader, Perfect Attendance and Student of the Month Certificates were awarded to deserving students. We raffled back packs and had the second quarter perfect attendance bike drawing, the winners were Hernan Garcia Porras and Evelyn Becerra. Congratulations!
We would like to see all parents in our next meeting, Tuesday, February 3, 2009.
The Health Safari took place on December 11th for all K-3rd grade students. They were checked for lice, weighed and height taken. They were also given a bag of goodies.
The Special Education Posada was held at Ed Pastor on December 12th. It was beautiful to see and hear the students.
On December 5th Crazy Hair Day we raised $156.16 and on December 12th Pajama day we raised $218.45 both were donated to the Ronald McDonald House.
106.5 pounds of soda tabs were donated to McDonald House on December 18, 2008.
595 cans of food were donated to the Salvation Army on December 18th, 2008.
The door decorating contest winner was Ms. Quintana’s class. Their door was decorated in gingerbread men.
Our parking lot re-pavement took place over winter break.
We would like to thank Carmina Molina, Eliza Lazaide, Esther Moreno, Carmen Yam and Isabel Gonzalez. Students, teachers and staff are expecting to see the next art work on the cafeteria walls.
