October 18, Hats on Day, we collected money for the  Foundation for Children with Cancer and for the family of one of our students. This fundraising was in honor of  Jaquira Hernandez, a 4th grader, who has leukemia.  We raised over $600.00.

 We had early dismissal on October , 17, 18 and 19, due to Parent/Teacher Conferences. Teachers informed parents  about their student’s academic progress and behavior , and after the meeting parents picked up Report Cards.  We want to thank parents and teachers for a job well done during conferences.

Rotary Lunch was on October 18th at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center, at 12:00 noon. In attendance was the Rotary Student of the Month Bianca Castro, her  5th grade teacher Mr. Garibay, her parents, Ms. Dickson, and our Principal Mrs. Brooks.

Red Ribbon Week was 10-20-07 to 10-28-07.  Each day a  token was given  to the students. Some of them were red bracelets, pretzels, erasers, stickers, and red ribbons.  We hope that in every home parents guide their children about drugs.  Let everyone stand strong against drugs. Keep our children drug free.

Benchmark test week was from Monday Oct. 22nd  to Friday Oct. 26th.  Each day the children work on a portion of the test.
